Welspun Energy has demonstrated strong Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC) capabilities in the Renewable projects space. The EPC Company has successfully commissioned mega wind and solar PV projects on a turnkey basis well in advance of the stipulated timelines across eight different states. Welspun Energy has thus achieved a leadership position as a Solar EPC market in India.

Welspun Energy has built some of the largest solar projects the country has seen. Commissioned across diverse geographies in 8 states, each of its projects were developed well in advance of the stipulated timeline. Welspun Energy has thus achieved a leadership position in the Solar EPC market in India.
Welspun Energy is steadily building mega wind capacities across the country. The recently commissioned 126 MW wind project is its first aggressive step in this direction.
The EPC firm has ventured into the solar rooftop segment in a big way. From building large scale ground mounted projects, Welspun Renewables has developed projects for prestigious organisations in record time.
India has become the third largest electricity generating country globally (behind US and China), but has a very low per capita consumption. 30% of its population is without electricity. To support demand created by ~6-7% GDP growth, India would need 700GW++ of capacity by 2032.
75% of the energy generated in the country is currently coal based, leading to numerous environmental challenges. Indian cities are already most polluted in the world. So Renewable energy is key for India’s sustainable growth.
With more than 300 days of sunshine, India ranks among the highest solar irradiation countries in the world. The current installed capacity barely scratched surface compared to potential. As per Berkley Lab study, wind potential in India is 2,006 GW (80 meter hub height) to 3,121 GW (120 meter hub height).
The government is playing an active role in promoting the adoption of renewable energy resources, by announcing 175 GW renewable vision. Policy measures like income tax holidays, duty concessions, accelerated depreciation etc. are giving a positive push to the sector.
With largest operational capacity across the sector, our projects are laying benchmarks for respective state territories. Welspun Renewables’ power plants are among the highest generating projects in the country. Our emphasis on systems and processes has enabled the organization for flawless execution by consistently decreasing its on-ground development cycle. This has been instrumental in bringing the solar tariffs closer to grid parity. Strong process and metrics based management based on EFQM (European Foundation for Quality management) framework help us deliver predictable performance and mitigate risk.
Madhya Pradesh - 151 MW Neemuch: One of the largest solar power projects in the world at the time of commissioning
Rajasthan – 126 MW Pratapgarh: Located in one of the highest wind velocity sites in the state, this is the largest wind project in the company’s portfolio
Maharashtra - 52 MW Baramati: Largest solar power project to be built under the public private partnership model in the state
Punjab – 34 MW Bhatinda: largest solar power project being developed in the state
Karnataka - 19 MW Chitradurga: largest solar project to be commissioned in the state
The total generation from solar and wind plants till date is 1.510 Billion units and a total of 1.3 billion tonnes of CO2 emissions are being offset by Welspun Renewables
